Over the last few years air conditioning manufacturing has gone through many changes, the most important one is the development of the inverter heat pump. This has come about because of the high running costs of the fixed speed unit (this is your traditional A/C unit).
The laws have also changed with the regard to refrigerant gases used. So beware of the cheap units on the internet. They do not come with the HFC refrigerants. Are they inverters? F-gas regulations now apply.
